James Lin – Owner aka HCIC
It all started in 1989, when my best friend Dien and I worked on our cars in my mom’s garage. By 1993, Dien moved away and I started a service of gold plating vehicle emblems for local dealerships from the trunk of my car. A year later, business was starting to picking up and I upgraded from working out of the trunk of my car to a HOT little mini van. During that time, I also expanded my service to include CD changers and wood dash kits!
In 1995, I felt more secure with my steady growth, so I took a chance and moved my mobile business to a two bay garage on Main Street in Pleasantville. Let me tell you, this was not an easy transition! I had two installers and yours truly, we worked hard and learned something new every day. We had some very interesting and rough times trying to figure out ways to improve on everything and become more efficient. Our work day usually lasted from 9AM to 11PM – we did not go home until the job was 100% complete! Our customer’s satisfaction was, is and always has been our #1 goal and we are known for this.
By 2005, we outgrew the Main Street location, and when the opportunity to relocate to a shop on Noah’s Road just off the Black Horse Pike with an eight bay garage presented itself, it was our time to move and expand yet again! Good times, and as I look back, definitely a very good move for the business.

Tom Way – Shop Foreman / Custom Installations Specialist
By 1999, I was on the hunt to recruit the best of the best installer in the area. I found him…and his name is Tom Way. He worked in his father’s body shop as a teen after moving to NJ. In the early 80’s he worked for Beacon and was named one of the top 10 installers in the WORLD!!! Tom has nearly 30 years of experience not only in car audio but also in body work, motors, trouble shooting, and custom installations. Being a Shop Foreman is more than a title…it takes a keen set of eyes, ears and vision to tell if the sound system is spot on and Tom has the knowledge and expertise to make it happen with each and every project. He is THE MAN and he is my main man because we understand each other on so many levels and without ever sweating the little stuff…priceless. Tom Way is the best of the best and I am a very fortunate man to have him on my team!
Tommie Wilkerson - Manager
In 2000, Tommie Wilkerson joined CarToyz. I was determined to take CarToyz to the next level – so, in 2005 when I made the decision to move CarToyz to an eight bay garage, Tommie stepped in and took a huge load off my shoulders by answering phones, setting up vendors, and organizing my schedule (which was something I was seriously lacking). With Tommie’s professionalism and vast knowledge of the car industry, it has had a tremendous effect in putting CarToyz on the right path.
Lee - Sales
Lee joined CarToyz in 2005 when he caved to my constant nagging. Due to his favorite excuse “I have a bad back," he decided that being in sales would be best for his “disposition.” Lee is an asset to the business as he incorporates the two facets of the car audio business: he is both a very knowledgeable sales person AND a top-notch installer. He is very detail oriented, reliable, and takes great pride in his work. He does not take any short cuts and is always eager to learn the latest and greatest techniques. So, needless to say, Lee is one of my anchors at CarToyz.
Felix A. Pineda - Sales
Welcome to our team Felix! Felix has a strong background in sales and is fluent in Spanish. With our high volume of Spanish speaking clients, he is an indispensable asset!
Jeff Irvin – Installer
“The big kid” Jeff joined CarToyz in 2005...originally from Philadelphia Jeff relocated to this area with his family (a proud father of 3) and is now a permanent key member of CarToyz. The only thing he wants to do with his off time is PS3 all day long! But when he’s at work his game is always on the money – he can install a drop down DVD in less than 10 minutes, (in certain car) he cut head rest TV as if it came from the factory. Jeff’s other quirks involves smoking like he’s got mad stock in Newport, drinks DP and he eats Taco Bells like it’s going out of style…and as long as I feed him Tacos and iced cold DP…look out!!! Jeff always strives to learn anything new and continues to improve his game… Jeff is definitely a strong and valuable member to our team.
